She was born on August 10, 1940. Jacki's life was profoundly guided by her faith, which helped her create a warm and nurturing home for Orville and their two children. Her devotion to her family was unwavering, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Jacki was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Angela Volkmer, her son Leon, and her stepfather Ronald Volkmer.
She is survived by her husband Orville, her daughter Cindy (Jerry O’Brien), her son Jeff (Stacy), and her cherished grandchildren Addison, Heather (Alec Cooper), and Zack Olson. Jacki had a passion for travel and discovery, often spurred by her children's global adventures. She especially loved visiting her grandparent's homeland, Germany, and cherished the experience of seeing Miss Saigon on the West End of London. Her favorite destination was the Chicagoland area, where she could visit both of her children simultaneously. Additionally, she enjoyed attending National and State conventions with the UCT, an organization she was affiliated with for many years. A voracious reader, Jacki had a particular fondness for Harlequin romances. Many boxes of these cherished books were donated when she moved from her home to a villa at the Ambassador. Besides reading, she relished playing bridge with her bridge club and engaging in various word puzzles. Despite the challenges posed by Alzheimers, she maintained a sharp wit and an enduring love for these activities. Jacki's faith inspired her to be actively involved in numerous organizations dedicated to helping others. She was a passionate volunteer, especially when it came to cooking. From her mother, she learned that good food could solve many problems, and she carried this wisdom throughout her life.
