PAWNEE CITY – A Falls City pair is charged in Pawnee County with possession of methamphetamine.

Don Baxter, 50, and Stephanie Vice, 43, were arrested following a Highway 4 traffic stop on May 31.

A Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office affidavit says Vice, a passenger in the vehicle, is on probation.

The deputy says, when he asked to search her Ford Fusion, Baxter yelled out that only her probation officer had the right to search. The deputy said he called her probation officer who authorized a search, but Vice denied permission. A K9 was called from Johnson County, but the affidavit says Baxter offered to retrieve marijuana vape pens from the car, which the deputy said was sufficient for a probable cause search.

He says methamphetamine was found in a bag in the glove compartment.
