Drought triggers water warning at Auburn, Peru
Protocols ordered until further notice
AUBURN - The Auburn Board of Public Works has issued a water warning for Auburn and Peru customers.
The board of public works says its wells are below normal levels due to drought.
The utility is imposing an odd/even lawn watering system and restricting outdoor water use, including lawn watering and car washing, to after 9 p.m. and before 10 a.m.
Wells used for irrigation within the city well head protection area will have usage monitored.
- Odd/Even lawn watering system imposed
- Residents with odd number address water on odd days
- Residents with even number address - water on even days
- Outdoor water use, including lawn watering and car washing restricted to after 9:00 pm and before 10:00 am
- No refilling of swimming pools
- Wells used for irrigation within the City Well Head protection Area will have usage monitored.
- Waste of Water will be prohibited.
