Peru State lifts recreation dome
PERU – The Peru State athletic department got its first look at the new multi-purpose dome in full inflation this week.
Sampson Construction provided the electrical generators to start raising the 80,000 square foot, air-supported dome between the Oak Bowl and the football facilities. Inflation started at 6:30 a.m. and was finished in three hours.
It will take three days to stabilize and there is significant work yet to be done for electrical and interior infrastructure. The facility will include a weight room, large practice field, courts for volleyball and basketball and have potential for a tennis or pickleball area. It is intended for all students, but the football staff was among the first to venture inside Friday. The Bobcats expect to have the facility available by this fall.
