PAWNEE CITY – Kandice Johnson, 36, of Pawnee City entered a no contest plea to sexual abuse by a school employee in a plea agreement.

The plea agreement came after the district judge ruled he would allow cell phone evidence at trial, even though the phone was seized without a warrant. The court ruled that seizure of the phone was necessary to prevent destruction of potential evidence.

A redacted arrest affidavit says students were subject to sexual contact at Johnson’s residence in Pawnee City.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 17.
