Sheriff recovers stolen property after pursuit from Nebraska

SIDNEY, IA – The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reports the recovery of stolen property after a police pursuit from Nebraska into Iowa.
A sheriff’s office press release says deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle in Nebraska, but it continued into Pottawattamie County.
Fremont County deputies, with assistance of Council Bluffs police and the Iowa State Patrol, arrested Rafael Hidalgo Cruz, 28, and Erick Montero De La Rosa, 31, both of New York.
A search warrant was conducted on the vehicle and the sheriff says over $7,000 in stolen property was recovered.
Hildalgo Cruz and De La Rosa were released after posting $10,000 cash bonds.

In other action, Curtis Mark Karnes, 59, of Kansas City, Mo., was arrested Dec. 17 for suspicion of possession of cocaine, methamphetamine and prescription drugs. He was held on a warrant out of Kansas.
