Nebraska City man charged with assaulting his father

NEBRASKA CITY - Recent court cases in Otoe County include 3 separate cases including allegations of an assault on a Nebraska City father, a case of over a pound of marijuana with an Oregon woman, and a short Highway 50 pursuit.
Nicholas Young, 18, of Nebraska City is charged with felony assault against his father on Nov. 11.
An arrest affidavit says Nebraska City police were dispatched to the emergency room at CHI Health St. Mary’s on Nov. 14 where a man was being treated for an injury that occurred three days earlier. Young is accused of punching his father in the back of the head on Nov. 11.
Young was previously charged with assault of his father in October.
In a separate case, Jacob Dike, 38, of Omaha is charged in Otoe County with possession of methamphetamine on Nov. 6.
On Otoe County sheriff’s deputy told the court he was stationed along Highway 50 when he saw a pickup turn into the driveway of the roads shop, stop and turn off the lights.
The deputy said he approached the pickup, but when he asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, the driver instead fled north on Highway 50. The deputy said Dike stopped along the highway near road F and was arrested.
Methamphetamine was found in the truck.
An Oregon woman is charged with possession of a over a pound of marijuana following a traffic stop on Aug. 28.
A sheriff’s deputy stopped a Mazda driven by Charae Fidanza, 44, of Grants Pass on Highway 2 near Road 50 at Dunbar.
She is also charged with no drug tax stamp.
