Auburn para sentenced for neglect
Para teacher sentenced to $1,000 fine and three days in jail

AUBURN - An Auburn Public Schools para teacher was fined $1,000 earlier this month after entering a plea to neglect of a special needs student on April 6.
Court records say 59-year-old David Archuleta was working with a 12-year-old special needs student. An arrest affidavit says he lifted the student’s chair thinking the child would stand up, but the student slid onto the floor. The affidavit says the student told police he was pushed from the chair. There were no injuries.
He was also sentenced to three days in jail and $60 in restitution.
Archuleta told investigators he had been fired by the school district.
