Architect proposes scope of service for recreation center study
FALLS CITY -- The Falls City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on July 5 at city hall.
The agenda includes the EDGE quarterly report, the EDGE memorandum of understanding with the city, Prichard Auditorium rental and the scope of work for the Falls City Recreation Center Feasibility Study.
The city launched its online content management system in June.
The “report an issue” icon has had 30 responses for street light out and street work orders. There were also animal complaints alley repair and code enforcement notifications.
The Economic Development & Growth Enterprise report for this spring includes the rail super site. EDGE is working with OPPD officials on electrical infrastructure reliability for the site. Olsson’s digital creative team is working on finalizing the master plan.
EDGE reports favorable language in LB977 to provide grants to city of the second class, rather than any city, with two first class railroads within 15 miles of two state borders.
State Sen. Julie Slama introduced the legislation to provide $15 million to expand electrical capacities in Falls City.
The city awarded its request for qualifications for the Falls City Recreation Center feasibility study to Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture and Olsson.
The scope of the work would include existing building evaluations, conceptual design, community outreach and a request for proposals at a cost of $28,000.
