NEBRASKA CITY – Emergency crews were dispatched to Highway 2 and Valmont Drive Friday afternoon for an accident that was followed by a second crash.

An Otoe County Sheriff’s Office investigator says a Ford Taurus driven by an Iowa driver pulled from East Fourth Corso onto Highway 2 and struck the side of westbound Honda Odyssey with Michigan plates.

Paramedics checked out the Iowa driver of the Taurus at the scene and she was not taken to the hospital.

A second accident at the scene involved two Nebraska City men. A Ford Focus stopped in the turn lane as a firefighter attempted to keep traffic in the eastbound lane. The Taurus was hit from behind by a Chrysler 300, which also went into the turn lane against firefighter directions.

There were no injuries.
