Two people injured in Papillion accident Tuesday night

Two people are suffering from serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash near Papillion.

PAPILLION, Neb. -- Two people are suffering from serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash near Papillion. 

Sarpy County Sheriff's Office responded to an accident at westbound Highway 370 and 126th St. around 8:14 p.m. along with Papillion Police Department, Papillion Fire Department and Omaha Fire and Rescue. 

Authorities said that Sarpy County Communications got a 911 call around 8:12 p.m., saying a pickup was traveling east in the westbound lanes of Highway 370 at Highway 50 before the crash. 

When officials arrived, they said they were able to determine that a Chevy Colorado, with one occupant, was heading east in the westbound lanes of Highway 370 and collided head on with an Infinity Q50, with one occupant, that was traveling in the westbound lane. 

Both of the drivers were taken to a local hospital for their serious injuries. 

The crash is still under investigation. 

No other details are being released at this time.
