Bobcats shock ranked Grand View
Peru State gets first win of the season against nationally-ranked opponent
PERU - The Peru State Volleyball team shocked nationally ranked Grand View in five sets Tuesday.
The Bobcats got their first win of the season, but are 1-0 in the conference. The Vikings won the first set and jumped to a 8 to 4 lead in the second, before Peru State punched back with a 7-1 run to take the lead on go on to win 25 to 19.
The Bobcats fell in the third set 25 to 16, but the Al Wheeler Activity Center was raucous with the score tied at 24 in the fourth. Kills by Lauren Moubray and Kim Krise sent the game into a fifth set.
Peru State won the match 3-2 giving head coach Madison Kindle her first career win.
Mendick lead Peru State in kills with 14. Mattie Nichols of Auburn had three aces. Kennedy Miller of Plattsmouth had two blocks.
