Rosenthal sentenced to prison for Nemaha County case
PAPILLION - The Lincoln Journal Star reports that Brian Rosenthal, 50, of Lincoln has been sentenced to at least 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor on multiple occasions.
Rosenthal entered a no contest plea to three counts.
He reportedly used his status and connection with the victim’s family to initiate a relationship with a teenage boy. He reportedly used social media accounts to reach out to the teenager’s friends.
Rosenthal previously worked for the Lincoln Journal Star and for Husker Athletics. He’s been sentenced to 30 to 50 years in prison, with parole eligibility in 2036.
Rosenthal was charged in Nemaha County, but the sentencing was not held there.
Rosenthal is charged in Lancaster County with visual depiction of explicit conduct and possession of child pornography in July of 2021.
