OMAHA, Neb. -- Authorities said a dumpster next to an empty house caught fire in north Omaha Sunday night because fireworks were thrown away.

Officials said the blaze spread to two houses in the 2500 block of Pratt Street. A vacant house suffered the most damage.

According to authorities, no one was displaced but fire officials said it's a scenario they see too often during the Independence Day holiday.

The Omaha Public Power District and the Metropolitan Utilities District also responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.
