PITTSBURGH - A former Nebraska City basketball player who is currently on the team at Duquesne University announced on Twitter on March 13 that she has been diagnosed with cancer in its earliest stages.

Snezhana Serafimoska, who is from Gostivar, Macedonia, averaged 11.5 points and 2.2 blocks per game for the Pioneers in the 2018-19 season.
She is a redshirt freshman at Duquesne and scored her first points in her collegiate-debut at Ohio State this season.
She has already had surgery and is recovering while she prepares for future treatments.
Serafimoska: “First, I want to thank God for giving me strength to keep going these past few months. I thank my family, friends, teammates, coaches and the entire Duquesne University athletics department for having my back and being a shoulder to lean on when I needed it most.”
