OPPD reports on 'pathways to decarbonization'
600 megawatt solar and natural gas generation is part of plan for zero carbon production by 2050
OMAHA – The Omaha Public Power District provided its directors with an update on the pathways to decarbonization this week.
The pathway includes internal operations and the energy portfolio, which includes a goal of zero carbon production by 2050.

The pathway to decarbonization also includes helping OPPD customers reduce their personal carbon footprint.
OPPD is working on a 600 megawatt solar and natural gas generation project.
Preliminary grading is underway at the Standing Bear and Turtle Creek stations and easements are being negotiated for the Sarpy southwest transmission project.
