Auburn principal inspired 'The Bulldog Way'
Hughes sees even more fishing in his future

AUBURN - Auburn Principal Marty Hughes announced his resignation as principal for grades six to 12 in November after 40 years in education.
In a letter, Mr. Hughes said he had many ideas and dreams when he arrived at Auburn five years ago and is glad to say the school has seen them succeed.
Hughes started “The Bulldog Way,” which installed a positive and winning culture at the school.
Hughes said it was a team effort from individuals who believe the school can excel in areas of academics, fine arts, clubs and sports.
Hughes said the students have been the foundation of this movement and he is proud to have played a small role.
Hughes, who went to Table Rock High School, is also owner of Kayakjak’s Outfitters and Fishing Guide Service.
He plans to offer a kayak fishing league in the Auburn area.
