Auburn prays for Reiman family
Over 150 attend service at St. Joseph's Catholic Church
AUBURN – Over 150 mourners turned out for a prayer service Wednesday night at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Auburn, where Kade Reiman was remembered as a classmate, friend and impactful young adult.
The 23-year-old had graduated from Auburn High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before taking his first teaching job with the second graders at Bennet Elementary School.

His father, Kevin, told those attending the service Wednesday how meaningful it was for his family to have opportunity Tuesday to meet the many second graders Reiman’s life had touched.

Kevin Reiman, superintendent of schools at Weeping Water, said he is grateful for the 23 years of his son’s life. He said while the accidental hunting fatality has Kade’s loved ones in need, God has been with the family through the people who have reached out with compassion.
Fr. Timothy Danek led congregate prayers for each member of the Reiman family followed by time for mourners to share hugs and tears.
A vigil service is planned Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lincoln. A Funeral mass is on Saturday.
Fr. Danek asked for prayers for the family to continue as the grieve even into the months and years ahead.
