FALLS CITY – The Falls City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2.

The agenda includes the EDGE quarterly report, board of public works infrastructure plan and a resolution to transfer $320,000  from the capital improvement sinking fund to the general fund.

City Administrator Gary Jorn will discuss wages for public safety employees and Police Chief Jamie Baker will discuss dispatching services.

The EDGE report includes the completion of Abbott Street at Champions Crossing and interest in the city’s access to Union Pacific rail line form Project Hexagon.

Director Lucas Froeschl includes in the report an update after a meeting with the CEO of FAST Global Solutions.

Froeschl says the company intends to grow its Auburn and Falls City facilities simultaneously. He said the company plans an expansion of 50 more jobs and says they will grow in Falls City, if they can get the employees there.

EDGE announced the addition of Makerspace Lab at Falls City Middle School, which will be available for field trips in the 2021-22 school year.

The 12th annual Cobblestone Fun Run/Walk with the theme Hollywood Red Carpet has scheduled registration at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, at Stanton Lake.

Mayor Shawna Bindle is asked to give a National Night Out proclamation for Tuesday, Aug. 3.
