Load of soil extinguishes fire
Murray firefighters suspect short in electrical wire

MURRAY -- Murray fire and rescue was dispatched Thursday afternoon to a fuel tank fire beneath the Highway 1 bridge down the road from the fire station, but road crews actually extinguished the fire before it reached the tank.
Firefighters suspect an electrical short in wires on a pickup truck ignited rags in the bed of the pickup.
The fire department was called when the fire flared up, but the road crew took matters in its own hands by dumping a load of soil into the pickup bed and extinguishing the fire.
