Hospital Ending Home Health Service
Hospital offered home care services for 20 years
By News Channel NebraskaAUBURN - Nemaha County Hospital announced today that due to staffing shortages, it will discontinue the Nemaha County Home Care department on Sept. 30.
The Nemaha County Home Care became part of the hospital in the early 2000s providing quality care within the homes of community members.
A hospital press release says it has become increasingly difficult, over the years, to properly staff the home care position.
Hospital: “The decision to close our home health service was one we did not take lightly, but with some staff retiring and others transitioning to other departments, we realized that we can not continue to provide the quality of care that we demand and our home health patients deserve.”
The press release says the staff recommended discontinuing the service. The remaining Home Care Staff will continue to be employed by Nemaha County Hospital, working within other areas of the hospital.
Current Home Care patients will be given contact information for the other home care agencies.
