16th Street Bridge Closing On Monday

NEBRASKA CITY  - The Nebraska City Street Department reports that the 16th Street bridge will be closed starting Monday, March 2, for repairs.

The bridge will be closed at least 35 work days as ME Collins replaces two expansion joints and makes extensive deck repairs. The work is projected for completion in mid-April.

The bridge work is part of the 2019 bridge repair campaign. Work on First and 10th streets was done prior to winter.

Construction Facility Manager Marty Stovall said work on Sixth Street will begin later this summer. A mill and overlay is planned for First to Eighth avenues.
