PLATTSMOUTH – Cass County authorities have filed weapons, drug and theft charges after searches of residences.

Christopher Hawes, 38, is charged with weapon and theft charges after his residence on Beaver Lake Boulevard was searched Dec. 30.

Court records say sheriff’s deputies found a Hi Point Model 995 rifle in a travel trailer that had been reported stolen out of Davis County, Iowa, in the late 1990s.

A 1965 Volkswagen dune buggy in the garage had been reported missing in Omaha in 2019.

In a separate case, 27-year-old Alexander Tellinghuisen was arrested following a probation search of his A Street residence.

Court records indicate that authorities found syringes of suspected anabolic steroids and pills of Xanax and the central nervous system stimulant amphetamine.

Tellinghuisen denies probation violations. He told investigators that any items in his residence may have been left over from a medical emergency years ago.

In other court action, Daniel Maravilla, 51, of Plattsmouth was charged with possession of the pain medicine Tramadol following a Highway 75 traffic stop on Jan. 19.

Gary Thornton, 39, of Plattsmouth is charged with an alleged choking assault of his nephew’s 34-year-old girlfriend, who was living at a Rock Bluff Avenue residence.

Court records say investigators reported that Thornton was upset after the woman woke him while cleaning.
