Wildwood Shelter, Pool Fees, Polar Plunge On City Council's Nov. 18 Agenda
NCTC proposes playground, shelter in Wildwood Park near entrance at Steinhart Park Road
NEBRASKA CITY – The Nebraska City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18.
The agenda includes a proposal for playground equipment at Wildwood Park, new pool and golf rates and extra payments on pool bonds.
NCTC is requesting city permission to apply to the Wirth Foundation for playground equipment and a shelter near the Steinhart Park Road entrance to Wildwood Park.
The $83,661 project will provide a play area and fourth picnic shelter in the parks.
The Nebraska City Recreation Agency is expected to announce an additional payment of $315,000 towards the Steinhart Aquatic Center and Tennis Court bond. Additional payments have cut the life of the bond one year to 2029.
Excess payments were also made of $65,000 in 2017 and $270,000 in November of 2018.
Proposed pool rates are a senior pass of $63, youth pass of $68, single pass of $73 and family pass of $180. The daily rate is $6.50.
Proposed golf course rates are members for single adult, $525; family, $740 and educator, $175. Weekday green fees are $13 and weekend fees are $21.
The agenda includes use of Wildwood Park for a Polar Plunge on March 7. The event will raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Nebraska.
Lied Lodge and Conference Center requests parking on Sylvan Road for the Cooper Nuclear holiday dinner on Jan. 11.
