NEBRASKA CITY – The Nebraska Department of Natural Resources unveiled its new interactive map showing Nebraska’s dam inventory on Tuesday.

Nebraska’s new interactive dam map shows 11 high hazard dams in River Country.

Five of the high-hazard dams are around Plattsmouth and another is at Beaver Lake.

In Otoe County, one high-hazard dam is southwest of Otoe and another is along Highway 2 west of Dunbar.

Johnson County has one high-hazard dam. It is located north of Tecumseh on the Town Branch of the Big Nemaha.

In Richardson County, the dam at Kirkman’s Cove northwest of Humboldt is listed as high hazard.

The inventory includes all dams that are 25 feet or more in height and have a maximum storage capacity of 50 acre-feet or more.
