Investigators looking for stolen tailgates

NEBRASKA CITY – The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska City police are investigating the theft of tailgates from pickup trucks in November.
Investigators are looking for a white Ram 2400 pickup truck that was pulling a trailer carrying a red car as an item of interest.
Tailgates were stolen from trucks parked at Fifth, Eighth and Ninth street residences in Syracuse. A sheriff’s deputy also noticed a tailgate missing from a truck parked at an Oak Street residence, where neighbors reported other missing items including a chain saw.
Nebraska City police also reported a missing tailgate at a Seventh Street residence around the same time frame of Nov. 4 and 5.
Nebraska City Crimestoppers reported another tailgate theft from a pickup truck in the 1100 block of Second Avenue on Nov. 15.
