Richardson County attorney alleges woman illegally dumped aborted baby

FALLS CITY – Taylor Rogers, 30, is charged in Richardson County with concealing human remains and concealing a death in October of 2023.
A Richardson County Sheriffs’ Office affidavit says deputies investigated a tip alleging that Rogers had aborted her unborn baby in Nebraska City.
The affidavit says an informant told deputies the remains of the “fully developed” baby were later found in the trunk of a vehicle at East View Apartments in Falls City. The informant told investigators the remains may have been dumped later near Salem, Neb.
Richardson County Attorney Samantha Scheitel filed charges under Nebraska laws pertaining to human skeletal remains for improper burial and for concealing the death of the baby.
Sheriff Rick Hardesty said authorities have searched, but have not found the remains. The Otoe County Attorney's Office says law enforcement has recently been asked to follow up on the case from 2023.
The Richardson County affidavit says Rogers texted to investigators that "it was legal through and through."
Rogers was arrested Feb. 3 and is scheduled to appear in county court on March 3. A bond of $10,000 was set.
