AUBURN, NE - Auburn split a home doubleheader with Plattsmouth on Saturday, December 14, as heard on B103. The opener saw the Bulldog ladies fall to the Blue Devils, 71-25, while the boys responded with a 54-41 win over Plattsmouth.

The Plattsmouth girls improved to 3-1 this season, while holding Auburn winless at 0-4. Averi Winters sunk 26 points in the win, while Jolie Dix helped out with eleven, and Mila Wehrbein dropped in ten. Winters connected on five three-pointers on the night. Auburn saw Addison Darnell reach double figures with eleven points, but she had just one bucket & went 9/12 at the free throw line. The Bulldogs went to the FT line often, finishing 16/30 there to account for a majority of their points.

In the guys' contest, Auburn stayed perfect at 3-0, while Plattsmouth continues to search for that first win at 0-4. The Bulldogs went 20/27 at the charity stripe & saw two players score in double digits. Cam Leslie hit for 17, while Brenton Wenzl finished with ten. The second quarter was huge for the Bulldogs, as they outscored Plattsmouth 21-5, after trailing 14-9 following the opening frame. The Blue Devils ended up 12/17 at the FT line, and they were led by Rylee Johnson's strong performance. Johnson knocked down 22, and wound up 8/9 at the charity stripe.

Next up for Auburn is a home DH against Freeman on Friday, Dec. 20, while Plattsmouth will visit Ashland-Greenwood on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
