NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska Panhandle, Nebraska National Forest and Niobrara River are placed in a red flag fire warning through Oct. 2.

The U.S. Drought Monitor has most of RiverCountry in moderate drought conditions, except abnormally dry near Rulo. The amount of area in severe drought has increased slightly since last week.

The Nebraska Forest Service has placed all of Nebraska in the high to very high category for fire through Wednesday, when fire risks near the Missouri River basin are expected to decline.

The 10-day forecast does not include rain for Nebraska.
