NEBRASKA CITY – Otoe County’s lodging tax collections in July were the highest among Nebraska counties that collect a 2 percent lodging tax.

Fourteen of Nebraska’s 93 counties collect a 2 percent lodging tax, the remaining 79 counties collect 3 or 4 percent.

Otoe County collected $19,390 in July compared to the next highest, Washington County, with $5,800.

Cass County, which collects a 4 percent tax, had $34,153 in revenue in July. Richardson County had $3,251, Johnson County had $1,574 and Nemaha County had $1,441.

Otoe County accounts for 75 percent of all lodging tax revenue in July charged with 2 percent counties.
