Hamburg church plans community picnic

HAMBURG - St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hamburg, Iowa, is planning a celebration to mark the 150^th anniversary of the parish with a community picnic in the city park.

Kate Roberts said a bounce house and old-fashioned games are planned, along with an ice cream social on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

The White Catfish Band will play in the evening.

On Sunday, a mass to celebrate the anniversary is at 4 p.m. Tours of the new religious education building are at 3 p.m.
