NEBRASKA CITY - Police arrested John Ridge, 36, of Nebraska City on April 14 for suspicion of terroristic threats and assault.

Ridge was out of jail on a $500 bond provision after an April 8 court appearance on a possession charge.

In the possession case, prosecutors say Ridge handed a pipe with meth residue to an officer after making claims that it was among bombs that had been planted trying to blow up his house.

Charges regarding the assault allegations are pending.

In a separate case, Anthony Short, 32, of Omaha is charged in Otoe County with forgery on Jan. 17.

Police say Short forged a check and cashed it an a Nebraska City bank for $2,995. An arrest affidavit says a bank teller identified Short in a photo lineup.
