NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska City commission will meet at 6 p.m. on April 1 at the safety complex.

Nebraska City Creative District items include:

  • Closing a portion of Eighth Street for a bluegrass festival June 22
  • Special liquor licenses for a jazz night at the Veterans Memorial Building in August.
  • Approval of creative district banners

A Nelson Family Foundation grant supports installation of 23 banners featuring eight different designs for 18 blocks of the creative district.

The district also proposes 68 additional flower baskets on 34 poles.

City Tap House proposes special liquor license for pumpkin carving contest at Veterans Memorial Building on Oct. 18.

The Jaycees are seeking a permit for the fireworks show on June 29 with a rain date of June 30.

Marty Stovall, construction and facilities manager, proposes using Community Development Agency funds to link Morgan Drive to Grundman Boulevard as part of the city’s Kreifels Hills housing development. The street and sewer would make five additional multi-family lots available for sale.

Sale of lots would be used to repay the CDA.
