NioCorp urges government support for domestic mining
Elk Creek project seen as security for U.S. manufacturing

ELK CREEK - NioCorp Chairman Mark Smith is expected to warn against China’s ability to hobble supply chains at a Safe Summit conference in Washington, D.C., on March 12.
Smith says China’s critical minerals gives it leverage over the United States and he urges U.S. officials to encourage minerals development like that proposed at Elk Creek.
Rita Jo Lewis, chair of the board of the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. is also scheduled to present at the conference. The export-import bank is processing NioCorp’s application for up to $800 million in debt financing for the Elk Creek Project.
Smith recommends government action to support more domestic mining.
