CASS COUNTY -- Cass County Sheriff Robert Sorenson reports multiple emergency response units on Friday for a two-vehicle accident at Highway 63 and Church Road.

Greenwood, Ashland and Eagle units responded, as well as Cass County deputies and the Nebraska State patrol.

A Nissan Rogue driven by 22-year-old Sydney Whited of Omaha and a Honda Odyssey driven by 25-year-old David Carlson of Omaha collided. Whited and her passenger declined medical treatment.

Carlson’s vehicle rolled once into the ditch.  Carlson and his passenger, Courtney Carlson, and their three children were transported to Bergan Mercy in Omaha for suspected non-life-threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office also reports a disturbance at a Rim Ridge Road residence in rural Plattsmouth on Thursday, where a firearm was reportedly fired.

A sheriff’s press release says there had been an argument between several adult family members. 68-year-old Curt Yager of Plattsmouth is suspected of firing a single shot into an occupied vehicle that was parked in the driveway. A second vehicle was also damaged by the shot. No injuries were reported.
