ABERDEEN, SD - The Peru State men's basketball team fell to the NCAA DII Northern State Wolves 94-65 on Friday evening in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The Bobcats record remains 6-1, since it was an exhibition game.
 
The Bobcats started out the first half strong taking a 18-12 lead after DeAndre Johns (Jr., Kenosha, WI) started the game with a good layup assisted by Matthew Wingett (Sr., Winnebago, NE). Wingett had a successful jumper in the paint to help the Bobcats keep the game close with the Wolves. A commanding fast break layup from AJ Richard (Jr., Pearland, TX) followed by two free throws by DeAndre Johns finished the half for the Bobcats as they were down 47-30.
 
In the second half, Ty Griggs (Jr., Omaha, NE) came out with a successful shot behind the arc followed by another commanding block of a Wolves shot attempt from Amir Poat (Jr., Rasht, Iran) The Bobcats kept battling as they scored 15 points in a 3.5 minute span. A final jump shot from Carlos Austin Jr. (Sr., Kansas City, MO) finished the second half. Though the Bobcats never stopped fighting, the Wolves were able to take the win 94-65.
 
Matthew Wingett led the team with 12 points and four rebounds. He also tallied three assists against the Wolves.  Luke Lee (Fr., Frisco, TX) also racked up 12 points during the game. DeAndre Johns scored eight points and tallied four rebounds for the Bobcats, followed by Ty Griggs who had seven points and three rebounds. AJ Richard had eight points and Easton Hall (Jr., Schuyler, NE) had six points and five rebounds against the Wolves.
