NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska blocked two Iowa field goals Friday but it was not enough to win and become bowl eligible.

Special Teams Coach Ed Foley has had two blocked field goals before in his coaching career. His teams have had 30 blocked kicks in seven seasons, but never three in a single game.

Nebraska Lineman Elijah Jeudy has a blocked field goal on Oct. 28 against Purdue, which Quinton Newsome ran back for a touchdown.

On Friday, lineman Ty Robinson and Nash Hutmacher are credited with blocks.

Nebraska had three, first-half first downs against Iowa, but finished with 10. Iowa had 14 first downs and was six of 18 in third down conversions in the 13 to 10 win.

Quarterback Chubba Purdy was 15 of 28 with a touchdown and a game-ending interception.

Iowa quarterback Deacon Hill was 11 of 28 passing for 94 yards, with one interception.
