Big Red Buzz: It's about football
Benning expects to see offensive improvements for Huskers after week one
NEBRASKA CITY - Damon Benning, an analyst on the Husker Radio Network, rose at the Big Red Buzz update at Valentino’s Restaurant in Nebraska City Thursday to express his feelings about Colorado football and offer reasons why Nebraska can defeat the 22nd-ranked Buffaloes.
He noted that TCU put up 42 points against Colorado and it took a spectacular catch and a last-second field goal for Minnesota to beat Nebraska 10-13 in week one. NFL draft buzz says Minnesota safety Tyler Nubin and cornerback Justin Walley are NFL draft prospects, as well as tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford. Benning predicted Sunday playing time for the Gopher’s wide receiver Daniel Jackson.
Benning: “This notion that Minnesota is JV and Colorado is the varsity … don’t believe it.”
Here's the rundown of Damon Benning's comments at the Big Red Buzz Thursday at Valentino's:
1. Team focus can fix interceptions
2. Running back Anthony Grant is seen as most likely sudden-strike weapon among running backs.
3. Return of Teddy Prochazka could be best remedy for OL play.
4. Wide receiver Ty Hahn is in the mix for meaningful playing time
5. Nebraska 30, Colorado 27.
6. … something about football gods tapping you on the shoulder … GBR
