NEBRASKA CITY – A Mason City, Iowa, man is charged  in Otoe County with burglary and theft over $5,000 on Aug. 22.

An arrest warrant has been issued in Otoe County for 33-year-old  Shawn Boger, who is suspected of thefts in Otoe and Cass counties.

An Otoe County Sheriff’s Office press release says Syracuse Frontier Cooperative and Mal’s Bar and Grill in Unadilla were burglarized in the early morning hours of Aug. 23. A pickup was later recovered in Cass County and investigators linked the Otoe County crimes to thefts in Cass County.

Burglaries were reported in Cass County Aug. 16 at Westover Rock and Sand, the Cass County Department of Roads Office and maintenance complex, Frontier Coop in Manley, Frontier Coop in Elmwood and Ulmer Construction in Elmwood.

 

 

Otoe County investigators joined law enforcement agencies in Iowa, Minnesota and Cass County Sheriff’s Office to develop suspects.

Otoe County deputies wrote a search warrant for Mason City and Kossuth County deputies obtained a separate warrant.

On Tuesday, Sept. 5, Otoe County joined Cass and Kossuth county deputies and other agencies in the search, which resulted in the arrest of Boger.

Boger is held on charges in Iowa and will face extradition to Nebraska.

Sheriff Colin Caudill says his office continues to investigate other suspects in the burglaries.
