City approves 2023 AppleJack events
NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska City City Council approved AppleJack events at its meeting Tuesday.
The AppleJack Parade will continue its new finish. It will go down Central Avenue and turn on Sixth Street to First Corso. Bands will continue on Sixth Street, but floats and vehicles will turn west and head up First Corso. Sixth Street from First to Fourth corso will be closed for bands and buses.
River City Carnival will be set up on Central Avenue near Sixth Street with the Central Avenue Flea Market on the remainder of Central from Fifth to Third streets.
Three food courts are planned including an ethnic food court in Memorial Way.
Shuttle buses will run between Kimmel Orchard, Arbor Day Farm and a stop near the U.S. Post Office from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The AppleJack Fitness Competition is scheduled on the north side of Steinhart Park on Sunday, Sept. 17.
NCTC’s Amy Allgood said new events this year are on the second weekend, Saturday, Sept. 23.
Events include the apple jamboree, downtown cider stroll and progressive dinner. The Taste of AppleJack Recipe Contest is scheduled at Arbor Day Farm from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24.
