All of Nebraska City's ambulances in service Thursday afternoon

NEBRASKA CITY – All of Nebraska City Fire and Rescue’s four ambulances were called into duty Thursday afternoon, including two to a traffic accident.
Emergency crews were dispatched at 4:02 p.m. to Seventh Street and Second Avenue for an accident with air bag deployment.

A pickup truck was westbound on Second Avenue and a Chevy Impala was south on Seventh Street. They collided at an unmarked intersection, forcing the Impala off the street.
Two people were taken to the hospital.
Three Nebraska City ambulances were called into duty in a 20-minute span. Temperatures rose above 100 degrees at 4:15 p.m. The heat index was at 108.

No. 2 3:47 p.m. – Unresponsive but breathing at 319 N. 11th St.
3:56 p.m. – Additional personnel
No. 3 4:02 p.m. – Accident with airbag deployment at 215 N. Seventh St.
No. 4 4:08 p.m. – Additional ambulance at 215 N. Seventh St.
