Syracuse theft investigation leads to felony arrests
NEBRASKA CITY – An Otoe County Sheriff’s Office investigation into thefts from cars in Syracuse has led to three felony arrests and an assault on an officer charge.
Cecelia Lampkin, 20, of Steele City, Neb., was among four people detained after deputies searched a Fifth Street residence in Syracuse on Friday.
An arrest affidavit alleges that she became agitated while at the county jail and assaulted three jail staff and one deputy. The deputy received medical attention at CHI Health St. Mary’s.
The affidavit says deputies were investigating multiple reports of thefts and observed a Syracuse car on surveillance camera at a gas station. Investigators say a search of the residence linked to the car yielded methamphetamine and THC wax, as well as a knife with 5-inch blade.
The Otoe County Attorney’s Office said charges related to illegal drugs, the knife and possession of stolen property are pending against Noah Dewane, 25, of Tecumseh and Dakota Watson, 25, of Lincoln.
Court records say items recovered include identification cards, check books, credit cards and book bags.
