OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha Police Department says they have arrested three suspects in connection to a homicide and felony assault investigation

The OPD said they arrested 34-year-old Luis Hernandez-Melendez, 28-year-old Alvin Melendez, and 30-year-old Valeria Vasquez. 

Hernandez-Melendez was booked for first-degree murder, first-degree felony assault, and two counts of use of a gun to commit a felony. 

Melendez was book for accessory to a felony and tampering with physical evidence. 

Vasquez was booked for accessory to a felony. 

OPD identified the second victim as a 24-year-old man, who is in critical condition at an Omaha hospital. 

OPD thanked the Ashland Police Department, Saunders County Sheriff's Department, Nebraska State Patrol, OPD's Uniform Patrol Bureau and others who assisted in the investigation. 

On Sunday, around 8:45 p.m. OPD officers were called to a shooting in the 4900 block of S 86th Parkway where two people were shot. 

28-year-old Luis Romero Rodriguez was one of the shooting victims, and he died at the scene.
