PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. -- A 64-year-old Plattsmouth man was airlifted after a single-vehicle crash in Cass County.

Cass County Sheriff Robert Sorenson said his office was alerted to an accident Tuesday morning at approximately 6:45. Murray Fire and Rescue and County County Emergency Management were also called to the scene on Highway 75 north of Young Road near Murray.

According to Sorenson, a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 64-year-old Corey Santee of Plattsmouth was northbound on Highway 75 when it left the roadway on the right side. Authorities said that when Santee attempted to re-enter the roadway, he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then crossed the centerline and left the road before entering a construction zone. The truck became airborne and rolled before coming to a stop on its side, Sorenson said.

Santee had to be pulled from the pickup and flown by Medical Helicopter to UNMC in Omaha. Santee was wearing his seatbelt. Sorenson said speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash. The accident investigation is complete, Sorenson said.
