House of Hope seeks opiod settlement funds
Monthly expenses for transitional house estimated at $3,000
FALLS CITY – Richardson County commissioners read a letter Wednesday from the House of Hope requesting funds from the Opiod Settlement Fund for a transitional house.
Expenses for a house for four to six persons is estimated a $1,200 per month for rent, $250 per month utilities, $1,200 per month for food. $350 for incidentals and $100 for insurance.
The House of Hope is asking for Opiod Settlement funds to help with expenses of $3,100 per month.
No action was taken at Wednesday’s meeting.
Richardson County High Superintendent Steve Darveau told that summer work hours begin June 5. The department will be working four, 10-hour days Monday through Thursday on most weeks through Sept. 1.
Commissioners will consider closing a portion of 640 Avenue where a bridge has been closed between 716 and 717 roads.
Work on Pony Creek Road is expected to start in June.
Commissioners approved an interlocal agreement with Pawnee, Johnson, Nemaha and Otoe counties for Southeast Adult Drug Court through 2024.
