NEBRASKA CITY – The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office reports an accident Jan. 5 involving a trailer pulled by a Chevrolet Express van owned by Omaha Door and Window Co and a Union Pacific Train west of Highway 75 on B Road.

An accident report says the driver of the van did not see the train until he was on the track. He was able to pull through, but the train hit the trailer.

There we no injuries reported to the driver, Justin Zimmerman, 42, or passenger Clarence McGraw, 55, of Plattsmouth.

The sheriff’s office also reports at a Highway 75 slide off with possible injury on Jan. 4 near C Road.

A Jeep Liberty driven by 32-year-old Heather Leonard of Nebraska City hit a slick spot on the highway, left the road and hit an embankment for a field entrance and a tree on the other side of the entrance.
