OMAHA - The Omaha Public Power District is reminded people to treat any downed power lines as if they have high voltage and are extremely dangerous.

An OPPD news release says Nebraska could experience the lowest wind chills since 2021 and 1996. Thursday and Friday temperatures are not expected to rise above zero.

Although the power company does not expect extended freezing rain the typically downs power lines, wind gust up to 50 mph may result in outages.
