SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Authorities in Sioux City, Iowa have been looking for a missing woman since the end of September. 

The Sioux City Police Department said they are looking for 36-year-old Brenda Payer. 

Monday morning, KCAU reported that the FBI has joined the search for Payer.

Officials said that her family reported they had last had contact with her on Sept. 29, when she had parked her van in the 700 block of Hamilton Blvd. McDonald's parking lot.

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women USA said her family reported that she had called to let them know she had dropped off her mom's car. 

It was reported that her friends and family have not been able to get into contact with her. 

The Sioux City Police Department said that Payer is a Native American woman. She has black hair and brown eyes. Payer is 5'8", and she weighs between 140 and 170 lbs. 

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women USA said she was reported missing Oct. 1. They also said her nickname is Gaga and she is a member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

The Police Department said they don't suspect foul play, but they "are concerned for her mental health as she may be in crisis."
