SYRACUSE - The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash.

On Sept. 3, at 2:50 a.m., the Otoe County Sheriff's Office responded to an injury crash south of Syracuse on Highway 50, near County Road O.

30-year-old Warren Paul of Sterling was traveling northbound on Highway 50 when his Mitsubishi SUV was struck head-on by a southbound Acura, driven by Charles Gregory, 29, of Cook. Preliminary investigation indicates Gregory crossed the center line.

Gregory was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. Paul was flown from the scene to Bryan Health West, in Lincoln, where he died from his injuries.

Alcohol is not suspected. Restraints were in use by Gregory. Paul was unrestrained. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

Highway 50 remained closed for several hours as Otoe County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Deputies responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
