NEBRASKA CITY – A $50,000 bond was set in Otoe County court on a violence against women case in Nebraska City.

Johnnie Krueger, 35, of Nebraska City is serving a probation sentence for attempted domestic assault in March and was charged this week with new allegations of felony assault by strangulation and terroristic threats on July 3.

Court records say Krueger locked the door to the residence following an argument and punched a woman in the face. Prosecutors allege that while she was on the floor, Krueger applied pressure to her neck and impeded her breathing.

A police report says the woman’s son was outside, but could see what was happening through a window. An affidavit says the son broke the window in an attempt to gain entry into the house to defend the woman.

The alleged victim in the July 3 case is the same woman identified in the March attempted assault case.
